Canberra Soto Zen Group is now sitting again on Sundays @ the Cook Zendo 8:00 - 9:30-45 but will also continue to connect online via Zoom, check our Facebook for more information.

We hold weekly ‘Zazenkai’ services, in the Soto Zen School (Mahayana Buddhism) tradition. The service includes two periods of zazen (seated meditation), kinhin (walking meditation), a tea ceremony, chanting and reciting of Buddhist sutras (in Japanese and in English), and a reading from Zen sources. If you come for the first time, please arrive 15 minutes beforehand for a brief introduction.

Other activities are planned during the year linked to Soto Zen practice: one day workshops, short retreats, talks and discussions by teachers in the Zen tradition.  Membership of the group is desirable but everyone is welcome!

Zanzenkai services are held at 1 Tilden Place, Cook, on Sundays from 8:00-10:30 am and for new members (on request) Thursdays at 6:30-8:00pm. Please email canberrasotozengroup@gmail.com if you would like to join us.

See 'Contacts' for a map. A donation of $5 would be appreciated.

“To practice the Way single heartedly is, in itself, enlightenment. There is no gap between practice and enlightenment or Zazen or daily life”
